Established in 2008, Mi Comunidad Center is a place where you and your family can gather for group activities, after-school tutoring,1 a monthly food pantry,2 English as a second language (ESL) classes,3 free financial presentations, holiday events and free tax filing with VITA Tax Assist during tax season.4 We’re here to support and empower you through every stage of life!
Our Mission
To bring hope and relief into a community affected by generational poverty, food insecurity and lack of financial education. We strive to provide programs that will promote the value of nutrition, increase financial self-sufficiency, and offer quality English-as-a-second-language instruction. We are here to provide a designated safe, supervised center for the youth in the area with meaningful mentor and learning opportunities.
Our Vision
We envision a community in which everyone has access to nutritious food, no longer suffers from food insecurity, and has equal access to financial and English language opportunities that are required for gainful employment. We envision a center for children who also carry the weight of generational poverty to know that they are in a safe environment and have the opportunity to form relationships with mentors who welcome them and help improve their quality of life.
Our Board of Directors
We are grateful to our board of directors for the time and expertise they dedicate to leading Mi Comunidad Center.
